IV makes a public announcement of its advisory board today. These advisors have been associated with Immigrationvoice for quite some time and we have decided to make the names public after they gave us permission to make their information public. Some more names will be announced in the near future if others associated with IV agree. These are top leaders in administration, industry, research and advocacy. We have been happy and fortunate to have them with Immigration Voice. We thank all IV members for supporting IV due to which we could make IV a nationally respected organization and a voice of legal high-skilled community. Even i'm in the same situation. My employer does not let me to interact with the attorney and is sad in following up.
He is yet to apply for my PERM.
Even i'm curious to know if there is a way to track it other than employer/attorney creating a sub account. I'm dead sure they would not create one :(

Can someone on this forum please let me know if i can keep my Canadian PR after my 485 is approved?
I dont think approval is going to come that soon for me (I am in EB3 category PD 09/06).
Reason i have asked the above question is because i have my Canadian PR and i know that i can stay outside canada for 3 yrs out of 5 years to maintain PR.
Incase, 485 does not approve in 3 years, then i have to move to Canada to maintain my PR (no option left).
But incase,485 does gets approved within 3 yrs then i will be in a fix as to whether i should keep PR or GC.
Now if there is an option to keep both, then it is gr8, but what if there is no option. i certainly dont want to loose my Canadian PR as i think in long term Canadian Citizenship is better.
Someone please respond.

Did anybody had expierence that they missed a appointment for any reason. What to do next? Go to center and request for reschedule or call national service center?

Wrong, time spent outside Canada while working for a Canadian company does not automatically counts for PR maintenance (2/5 years). That's for some exception situation like serving in the military etc.

My attorney tells me they don't give employees copies of labor applications.

EB3 with PD of July 2006. I-140 Approved. 485 +EAD+AP filed 2 weeks ago.
I was contemplating on job change before dates became current in June and decision to accept 485....
Now that 485 is filed and this DUST has settled, wondering whether all this is worth the wait. (even 180 days).
Currently in my 5th year of H1b, by waiting out the 6 months, I'll also get 3 yr h1b ext. (and hopefully ead by then).
So is waiting 180 days the best choice? or screw all this and change! (I dunno if this AC21 etc etc is practical...same job description etc)
(I am single and those complexities are not to be considered I guess yet.
Plan is to try and change jobs on H1b and use EAD only if there is a dire need like layoff to find another job quicker)
Normally it should not be a problem assuming your present employer is nice and you have good relations. If you leave the job before 180 days and if your employer says screw sundarpn then what will you do?:)

Hi folks,
The local Council for the Arts is sponsoring a photography contest and I'm planning to enter it (my first!!). The subject of the contest is an Ice Fishing Derby held Jan 29-30, 2005 in Silver Lake, NY. Not my ideal choice of subjects, but ...
Here is the primary rule:
"Winning photos will be those that best represent and display the Ice Fishing contest as an interesting winter event."
Of the ~160 shots I took, these were my favorites.

I'm from the UK and we've now been told I cannot leave the US and join him, until I have my advance parole which could take 3 to 4 months.
Smerchas...Are you sure about what this? From what I remember, you have to be in the country when you apply for your AP...But there is no necessity that you need to be here when it is approved !
Technically, you can ask your attorney or the person who is living at the address where the AP document would be sent by the USCIS, and request them to forward the approved AP to your then current address...That way, you don't have to stay in the country while USCIS processes your application...
Ofcourse, the flip side is, if your AP is denied for any reason, you would have to go to the US consulate in wherever country you are and request the special admission letter...

Since you are from Russia it may be wiser to stick with EB3. I am assuming that the priority date for EB3 will be very close to current when you are ready to file for 485. EB2 of course is always current.
Filing in EB2 is riskier, since you and employer will have to prove to USCIS that 1. the employer has a requirement for a person with EB2 qualifications and 2. you have those qualifications.
If you were from heavily retrogressed countries such as India and China, then taking a risk and filing in EB2 is worth it. For India/China:
EB3 --> GC when you are ready to marry off your grand children
EB2 --> GC when you are ready to marry off your children

Let's say if you have a visa till dec 2010 and passport expires by june 2010. If you go out of country now and enter US again, they will issue I-94 till june 2010 only. Now a days Port of Entry CBP are careful in issuing I-94 till the expiry of the passport (not till the visa end date).

The OP poster was not scorning against the average american, I think you are mixing two issues up, I am sure he has done his share of charity work, and he probably sympathizes with families who don't have a job, I don't think you can direct your anger against him.
This is a capitalistic society not a communist or a socialist society, the market will/should balance itself out, new industries come up, people get hired, if the attitude of the people is protectionist, which it is, it stifles innovation and growth, which in turns stifles the growth of new companies, which in turn would have helped the folks laid off get a job. Being emotional is OK, but one must be pragmatic. That said, i believe charity begins at home, one must take care of its own kith and kin before extending arms to others.

Valid I 94 is good enough at port of entry (even if your visa in your pp is expired)... as long as
1. your stay in canada is not more than 30 days
2. you did not appear for the visa interview (@US consulate) in canada.
3. You are not from a terrorist sponsored contries such as Iran, N. Korea etc.
This is called as "Automatica visa Revalidation" rule.
In other words if your visa is rejected @ the consulate and if your visa in passport is expired, you CANNOT come back to USA (using 30 day "automatica visa revalidation" rule).
