Hey everyone. I was wondering if you could tell me how to pack my iMac G5 so I can take it to someone elses house. I still have the the box it came in. Will it be ok in that box if I cover it with material? Thanks for your replies in advance.

On what grounds would the buyer be eligible for restitution if the buyer receives a full refund? You tell me how the buyer, after receiving said refund, is damaged past the initial and temporary loss of funds from being slightly unaware.

Doubtful since their warranty does not transfer to a second hand buyer. If I were to buy an iPod and then sell it on ebay a few weeks later the new owner would not be covered.
Apple dont check receipts, they check serial numbers. So long as its within the standard warranty period, or there is a flag to say that its covered by extended Apple Care, its covered. They dont care who you got it from.
Its also law. They are legally not allowed to refuse a manufacturers warranty based on which shop you bought it from (At least in the UK - it would be mind numbingly idiotic of any government to allow them to refuse it).

That's nice, but I'm still waiting for more storage.
To clarify, I have .Mac and love the features, I just think for $100/yr, Apple is being a little chintzy with storage (after all, Google offers 2 GB for free and AOL offers unlimited space for free).

Can buying things like charging cords and docking stations from places like eBay and from other companies other than Apple mess up the battery on an iPod/Touch?

Apple should really diversify their suppliers anyway, which is what they look like they are doing. Cut Samsung supply by 50%, and threaten all of it if they don't get their act together. Surely Samsung doesn't think that that they can bring in this kind of revenue on their own merit. Outside of LCD televisions, Samsung has an image problem, and even that has only improved in the last few years.

I would still estimate that there are many more FCP installs in use than Avid.
If you look at the industry as a whole there are but the higher up the food chain you go the fewer FCP seats you see. These numbers are from a couple of years ago but from what I remember FCP had about 50% of the market and Avid had 25% or 30%. A survey of A.C.E. members (American Cinema Editors), who mainly work on 'Hollywood' TV shows and movies, taken around the same time showed that about 80% of members used Avid while about 10% used FCP.
For feature films and television these days, Final Cut is ABSOLUTELY the industry standard. Oh and in the 8 years I've lived in Hollywood, I never met one person in the industry who uses a Windows PC (maybe a writer or two).

Going to replace the stock HDD with a WD Black 750GB. New to Mac and need to know what's the best way to test for bad sectors and stuff.
I would prefer it to be a thorough type of test before I start using it for important data.

There's just no reason for some people to be alive after what they've done.
There is one - I see no reason that we should kill them.
I'm perfectly satisfied with locking criminals away for the rest of their natural lives for the mot heinous crimes. I don't see a compelling reason for us citizens to kill criminals through the state. That isn't justice. That is revenge, or blood lust. It's barbaric.
