If your local store does not have it, call nationwide. My local verizon store said they ship for free anywhere in the U.S. by FedEx. I had one shipped to Florida. Hope this policy is not unique to the store I visited.

In the snow areas more damage is done to the roads with thawing and freezing than the cars driving over them. Road salts eat through quicker than cars just driving on them. Sure the cars add to the wear but they are not the only factor. As long as we plow and treat the roads they will need to be repaired quicker regardless of how much traffic there is.

After I had to write a paper on "Myth America- How The American Dream has been and always will be a Myth" I conveniently forgot to sign up for the next semester's classes.

That kind of stuff changed my views on a lot of things. I never could understand. I've been beat down a lot in my life. I started with zero - paycheck to paycheck household, nobody saved anything for my college. I got loans. I've gone into debt a couple times, but pulled myself out of it and put together a pretty good career.
I thought I did all that myself, but apparently it's my "white advantage" (first heard that used by Al Gore). That's just distasteful to me. Now, maybe if my skin had been a different color I would have had a harder time and not been given a fair shake in interviews and such. I can accept that. But would it really have been *impossible* to overcome, or just an additional challenge?
It just depresses me to see people living their lives with the belief that absolutely nothing is within their control, and the only way to succeed is to wrestle the property of other people away from them by massing political power. That's just a damn depressing way to live - thinking you've got no chance, no hope, nothing to contribute or gain on your own.

Iraqi's killed more coalition, killed more assets, and at a much faster rate than the rag tag Taliban...because Iraqis were smart at least. Although we have Iraq practically in a position like Saudi Arabia as a "future oil reserve", we still need to take care of Iran. Don't be surprise if "nuke factories" and "Iranian weapons in Taliban caches" come up once again. ;)

I think at this point OBL's "martyrdom" is long past significance and they are just setting up to put "Al Queda" on a lower hit list and target other "terrorist" like those in Iran. I'm back to word now and it has grown on me some because of the comments ability, simple thesaurus/dict, and is compatible with reference software. However, it is very slow (almost unbearable) on my stock 256mb ibook. And more importantly it does not handle figures and table nearly as well as Pages. Consequently I do most of my typing in word and then work with my figures and table in pages and include them as a separate PDF. I also have Mellel which is also nice if I just want to write smoothly without any distractions.
And iwork is worth the price just for keynote. However, why doesn't keynote have a way to dim bulleted lists once you have gone over an individual bullet. I am envious of powerpoint only for this feature.

Push Notifications are when your phone automatically checks for updates, alerts etc. without you having to open the app right? I guess it's just misleading to me because when I hear "push" notifications, I think of something that happens when I push the app or open it up.

What you are explaining is pull, not push.
In push, the phone keeps one connection alive to Apple. When Apple receives data for your phone, it will push it to your phone through this connection. The phone doesn't "check" anything.

I'm in Dallas and will not be getting the iPad2. I think Apple has enough of my cash. I have Macbook Pro, iPad 1, & iPhone 4...not to mention the first 3 iPhones that I bought. Anyway, I'm just glad to see how many people from DTown are on this forum!

Thicker or not, I think the white iPhone is rather odd looking. Looked great online, so we went into the Apple Store to pick one up for my wife. We were both disappointed with the phone in person, however. It just looks like plastic, and the white doesn't seem to work well with where it meets the aluminum.

4gb onboard sounds cool, but with usb support (finally!) it seems a little superfluous. It would really only be used for saves i assume, and most saves are under 1mb, so you could have ~250 saves on the old model 360 without worrying about space.

I think it was simple economics - take out the BL keyboard to get the cost under $999 and keep the margins at 30%.
However, as tech gets more mature, and the R&D Cost is recouped for the new design, I think they can re-add the BL Keyboard w/o sacrificing the $999 Price-point or the 30% margins.
As you said, it wasn't just "for fun", but "for profit" and if they can maintain that profit, and return a marquee feature like the BL Keyboard, why not?

This may be true - further analysis is needed. Either way, concrete roads (like interstates and state highways) are much more resistant to this type of wear than asphalt. And again, the real culprits are soil conditions and thermal expansion/contraction.
If that's the case, then 18 wheels are going to heat up a road faster than four. I'd also like to see the impact of braking on road surfaces. I'm sure it's significant.

@Cliff, my bad I remember seen the high speed crop also on the D3 series but I might be wrong. The D700 however does have a crop but also allows you to shoot your DX lens on full frame (which will vignette) but has no speed increase over the full frame mode.
There is no need to speculate when the manuals are freely available for download. The D3/D3S has additional crop options, but those options reside on the same menu I mentioned in my previous post. I replaced my D2X with a D700 a little over 2 years ago and so I am very familiar with both cameras.
