Would you want Donald Trump as our president? I am really on the fence for this one. This is the first time I am allowed to vote so I am paying attention to politics more than ever. I mean it would be good to have a completely loaded president so he "can" spend some of his money for the economy, which Trump says he will do. We all know that all politicians are liars though. Trump has changed his mind about a lot of things such as abortion, socialism, and Obama's health care plan. A little while back Trump voted for the three previous things I said but has recently changed his mind. This makes me think he will be unstable when it comes to decisions as a president. Also I don't take him seriously. So what do you think about Trump for president?

It should not matter what "I think" about Trump as it relates to your vote. But, I think you are trying to get a deeper sense of the candidate by asking others, which seems both reasonable yet misguided to me. My suggestion is that, at the end of the day, vote your conscience based on what HE SAYS and DOES and not what others interpret. You have a moral compass, use it.

But this discount is not directly to students. It is for institutional purchase I think. Did anyone get this discount through their school?

I thought other players were also offering such technology... Hows airplay any different ?

Unless they want to copyright the term "AirPlay"

The difference is Apple get's $4 per device and the manufacturer has a widespread of devices that people already have ready to use with it.

    I say it's a win/win

The article is a little vague, but in my view any device that allows access to the Internet (even at home) is a serious problem that companies really need to forbid. Because people could use the Internet to learn about other job opportunities, or even send resumes. A happy worker is a worker in the dark.

What I am getting at by this post, is why are Mac people so biggoted against the PC. Another guy made a post somewhere else about how maybe one in fifteen PC users is anti Mac, but more like one in two Mac users is anti PC.

    1/15 PC Users X 95% Market Share = 6.3% of total market.

    1/2 Mac Users X 5% Market Share = 2.5% of total market.

If your assumption of this is right, then...

Conclusion: There are more bigotted PC Users than there are bigotted Mac Users. :D

I certainly don't consider myself to be "normal" in regards to my computing needs, but the iPad has been a very welcome addition to my electronics landscape.
It excels at casual uses and has all but replaced my laptop for my traveling needs.
That said, there are times when you just need a 'real' machine to get things done.

    ya this.

I've been saying since I got the first iPad, what people will use most of the time will be an evolution of the iPad. A standard computer will be needed, but will be much less used. IE; I family of two adults and two teenagers will share one iMac, but each will have an iPad.

Yeah, I get to have my wisdom teeth out next Thursday, so it's anesthesia for me too!

Where do you people live that you get general anesthesia for wisdom teeth? I had all four of mine removed at the same time, and had to make do with 12 (4 by each tooth) shots of Novocain (local anesthetic) !!!! Then I got to listen as the dentist crunched the one that was coming in sideways and recessed so he could suction out the little pieces.

I'm saying that's my personal opinion. I know it's capable of playing games, but many people are disappointed about something that no one knows except maybe Apple or Intel.

Really? So if I buy a MBA, using your logic above, then one of the reasons I bought it was because it could play games. This is your opinion, your view of why some people buy a MBA. Just like what I said in my previous post was purely my personal opinion. Not dictation of anything. I'm sure many people agree with you and some that don't.

That's you. I simply stated how I personally use my computer. It's different for everybody. Not everybody is like me or you. Not everyone is a musician or creative artist. Of course, the backlit keyboard is a welcome addition. I never said anything against that.

That was the point of my post. I was trying to point out that different people will have different uses of a computer and have different skill levels. I was merely pointing out examples of the uses of a backlit kb (creative artists, users not as proficient in keyboarding) and the different audiences (gamers, portable users, media) that bought into an MBA.

Yea, I didn't mean to imply that users bought it generally because of gaming, but that it was just one reason that many users (certainly not all) did happen to buy it for. I myself didn't buy the Air for gaming purposes, though I found myself pleasantly surprised when squeezing in a game or two of Left 4 Dead on it. :)

And you explicitly said, and I quote you:

if you want to play games, then don't bother with the Air.

I don't know how else to interpret that. Unless of course you demand higher performance on newer games, then yea I would be inclined to agree with you. But I seem to read all the time on this forum that many users do in fact game on the Air and enjoy it. So why shouldn't they?

    Must be an American thing.

That and No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service. (so much for never turning away customers)

As if the shite that you carry in on the bottom of your foot is any worse than the shite you carry in on the bottom of your shoe.

have you tried adding the NAS to your login items via system preferences > accounts > login items ?

this will ensure the NAS mounts automatically when you boot your Mac.

Just tried that to no avail. It comes up with a little box saying "Connection failed. The server"nasbox" may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection and then try again"

I have noticed when i go into finder and click on the nasbox it auto logs in but for about 2 seconds it says "connecting" and then works when i launch itunes.

What, do you think Microsoft has been snubbed?

The meeting was between the President and the heads of Silicon Valley tech companies.

All of the companies represented at the meeting are based in California.

Microsoft is based in Redmond, Washington.

    So Microsoft weren't invited (http://thenextweb.com/microsoft/2011/02/18/why-ballmer-wasnt-at-the-obama-tech-dinner/). ;)

I prefer to think that it is just another example of how Microsoft is becoming more and more irrelevant in the consumer market. They will be the IBM of the '10s.

and in september iPad 3 will move to #1 spot putting iPad 2 in second and original iPad in 3rd. And in 2012 iPad 4 will move to first...but i digress.

First off, leave my post alone.
Secondly you will see iPad 3 as early as September if competition is stiff. Only if iPad 2 retains major market share will Apple will delay release of iPad 3 until 2012, thus extending revenues from iPad 2.

Automotive is one of the few industries still left in the U.S. It might be beneficial to look at where all the parts are made. ;) Let's talk about electronics, clothing, and shoes... :p

KIA joined that group over a year ago (http://www.businessweek.com/blogs/eyeonasia/archives/2009/11/koreas_kia_opens_auto_plant_in_us.html). :D

Correct, though I hadn't said my list was all-inclusive. :p

IIRC, and more relevant to the post I was responding to, Volkswagen was looking at a plant site in Chattanooga at one time, but I'm not sure that ever went forward.

So a 17 year old can do it but a gigantic company with $50 billion lying there can't. Seems logical to me.

    Wake up Steve. Seriously.

No, there's a slight difference. He's simply selling the parts with no control on quality or guarantee that white glass will negatively affect the iPhone. Apple isn't selling the white iPhone 4 because there are quality issues that the suppliers can't overcome. Rumor is that the white glass on the iPhone 4 isn't consistently white and allows light to bleed through to the camera sensor. Apple had enough problems with the antenna "issue", so I imagine that'd take precautions with the white glass...

Wow, I came into this thread late. I wonder where the other 39% percent of the Silverado is from? I would guess more than one country. I know about the US Toyota plant, but Honda, too?

Anyway, I kind of like the Honda Fit and if that's helping American workers, then all the more power to them.

Honda has been building cars in Ohio at least since the early '90s. Had a '93 Civic built in East Liberty or Marysville... can't remember which. Sadly, the Fits (I actually own an '09) come from Japan.
